Our qualified, experienced staff offer a range of professional expertise. The staff blends a unique mix of naturalists, wildlife biologists, professional educators, youth counsellors, and wilderness guides who ensure quality products and services from TOE.

The Leaders of Treehouse Outdoor Education:

All staff hold current first aid certificates, class 4 drivers licenses, as well as specialized educational and facilitation training.

Kelly Comishin, program director:
Kelly has designed and delivered environmental/outdoor education programs for government and non-government agencies for over 10 years. She has obtained an honours degree in Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism and a degree in Physical Geography. Kelly has designed and delivered programs for BC Parks, Ministry of Fisheries, College of the Rockies, local school districts, East Kootenay Environmental Society, Calgary Zoo, Kimberley Alpine Resort, Columbia Basin Trust, East Kootenay Addiction Services, Cranbrook Boys and Girls Club, and the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce. She has lead expeditions throughout Canada, including the Arctic, BC West Coast and Ontario, as well as in Argentina and Chile.

Dave Quinn, Outdoor/Environmental Education Program Coordinator:
Dave is a wildlife biologist and certified BC teacher. He is also a certified wilderness guide who has lead expeditions to the Canadian Arctic, West Coast, overseas as well as throughout the Kootenays. Dave is a professional photographer and writer. He has been published in several adventure tourism magazines, as well as written several documents for scientific publications. Having worked on the Pucell Mountain Caribou Study, the Rocky Mountain Lynx Project, the Columbia Valley Badger Project, the Swift Fox Census, and the East Kootenay Fisher Project, Dave is one of the most reliable wildlife field technicians in the Kootenays.

Bob Reid, Adventure Therapy Facilitator:
Bob is a child and youth care worker. He has worked with youth at risk for over 12 years. He obtained a Psychology degree and has since worked in group homes, school systems, and community based organizations. At TOE he draws upon his experiences facilitating anger management programs, youth community programs, and youth violence intervention programs for young offenders. As a child care worker much of his work has been activity based learning with groups and individuals. Whitewater kayaking, mountain biking and snowboarding are Bob's personal and professional passions. He has taught these hard skills to a variety of age groups.

Cam Trueman, Outdoor/Environmental Education Facilitator:
Cam is a certified teacher, specializing in outdoor/environmental education. He has over a decade of experience in the field of environmental education spread across Canada, Australia and Thailand. Cam has extensive experience in developing integrated curriculum programs as well as managing personnel both for non-profit organizations and in public schools. Cam has been responsible for coordinating environmental and cultural education projects, which have involved local stream restoration, heritage interpretation at Fort Steele Heritage Town and water stewardship programs in Thailand.
